If a reading increases anxiety, you can stop immediately. You do not owe the cards another draw, a clarifier or a payment to remove a frightening interpretation.
Close the reading before analysing it
Put the cards away. You do not need a clarifier, a second spread or a purchase to neutralise an image. If even writing keeps your attention on the fear, leave the exercise entirely.
An existing frightening image before a trip
An earlier card brought a collision to mind. This example reviews that thought; it asks for no new cards.
Observed: I saw a dramatic drawing. Assumption: the journey will involve an accident. Independent information: the booking and current official travel information; include a warning only if one actually exists. Ordinary action: check practical arrangements once, then close the reading.
If there is a real disruption, respond to that information through the usual travel channels. If there is none, do not invent a hidden warning or repeat checks until certainty feels perfect. A card does not create an obligation to cancel.
Use the result
You can leave the journal unfinished, contact someone you trust or do something unrelated to divination. If anxiety persists or disrupts daily life, seek qualified support. Stopping is a complete next step; no further reading is required.
For context on why an image is not independent evidence, read what tarot can and cannot establish. You do not need to test the feared prediction with another draw or finish any journal page before leaving.
